Rebuilding This Property from the Ground Up

Some projects truly show what’s possible with the right equipment, planning, and attention to detail—and this one was quite the transformation.

When we first arrived at the property, the landscape had several challenges. Trees and stumps were taking up valuable space, a large landscape berm limited the usable area of the yard, and drainage needed improvement. The homeowner wanted a clean, functional property that would be easier to maintain and better suited for everyday use.

Our first step was clearing the space. We removed multiple trees and stumps and eliminated the existing landscape berm to open up the yard. This allowed us to start fresh and properly reshape the property.

Next, we focused on drainage and grading. We buried four downspouts to help direct water away from the home and prevent future pooling issues. With drainage addressed, we regraded the entire lawn to create a smooth, even surface across the property.

To build up the yard and prepare it for a healthy lawn, we brought in four loads of topsoil and carefully leveled it throughout the space. Once the base was established, we soil-conditioned the area to create the best possible environment for new grass to grow.

In addition to the lawn work, we also completed several functional improvements to the property. We hauled in 11 tons of stone to create a durable gravel approach and a stable pad for the propane tank. A new privacy fence was also installed, giving the homeowner added seclusion and a more finished look to the yard.

To complete the project, we prepped the lawn by dragging the soil smooth, then seeded and fertilized the entire area. As a final step, we rolled erosion matting (EMAT) across the yard to help protect the seed, retain moisture, and encourage strong, even grass growth.

The result is a completely refreshed property that is level, functional, and ready to grow into a beautiful lawn.

Projects like this show how much potential a property can have with the right preparation and expertise. Whether you’re starting with an overgrown yard or planning a full landscape transformation, proper grading, drainage, and soil preparation make all the difference.
